Solar Panel Japan
Do you think that the idea of painting everything white will be adopted in Japan?

Steven Chu wants to paint the roofs and streets white and people should use white cars in order to reduce CO2.
What will happen to all those black Solar Panels? How will Japan look like?

@ the cheap: he wants to do that worldwide

You can’t paint the Solar panels white. White is one of the the color which can reflect light at most *(and the purpose of the wholeproject) and Solar panels need to absorb the sunlight/light and therefore need a dark color to be efficient. They are extra painted with a antireflectlayer and the brightest color you can take is silvergrey or brown.
I read that german article and it seem nearly impossible to archive, not technologically but by human failure. Not everyone likes the color white on cars and white roofs on their houses. In fact I haven’t seen any white roofs on common houses in europe and people won’t do that unless you force them to do so. (And how can you force something in “free” countries).
The only solution which might work in this article is this
