Solar Panel Singapore
What will be the ideal place to put a Solar Panel?

Like what’s the most favourable condition for solar panel to function at its fullest? I know that it should receive the most amount of sunlight and etc but are there any other things that I need to consider that pertains to the weather condition of Singapore?

Singapore is right on the equator, so there will be a tempation to put the solar panel out flat. Unless you plan to clean the panel regularly, I would suggest tilting it at maybe 15 degrees. Otherwise, when it rains, the water accumulates on it, and the dirt layer just gets thicker and thicker. If you’re so close to the beach that salt spray accumulates on your windows, you may reconsider whether you really want a solar panel, as you’ll have to wash your panel regularly.

Also, it never gets cold where you are, so if you can, put the panel where there is good airflow around it. If you mount it on a roof, try to raise it 15 cm off the surface, even 30 cm. A panel can lose about 0.5% of its power for every degree C rise in temperature.

Security [thieves, vandals] is probably not an issue for you, as much as it is in certain urban areas in the US.

Other than that, put it outside where it will not get shadows from trees, buildings, or other obstructions during the day.
