Solar Panel Array
How do I convert electricity form a 12V battery array to regular 110V AC?

Hi: I have a Solar Panel for charging a 12V battery, and a power inverter to convert this electricity to 110V AC. I wanted to storage more electricity so I added another battery and connected serial to the first one and the solar panel. The problem is that now I have a 24V array and the inverter turns the red led (fault) as soon as I connect it. What should I do? Connect the batteries in parallel instead of serial? Would this affect in other way (or damage the equipment)? What else should I buy?

THANKS

If you wire in series, pos to neg to pos to neg, you will double the voltage, which is your problem.

If you wire in parallel, pos to pos/neg to neg, you will double the amperage, which will give you a longer run time and the correct 12 volts you need. This is the way you should do it.

You can add more batteries to give you a longer run time if you always wire in parallel.
